Beyond Ktaadn promotes the conservation, public awareness, and greater scientific understanding of alpine and montane biodiversity in eastern North America.

We are an empirically-driven, interdisciplinary grassroots effort. Through research, educational programs, and strong regional partnerships, we are increasing public awareness of poorly-known mountain wilderness, identifying conservation priorities, monitoring sensitive mountain ecosystems, and informing land management.

Our partners and collaborators include government agencies and nonprofits in the United States and Canada. Working collaboratively with these entities, we are actively inventorying, monitoring, and studying eastern alpine areas from New England to Labrador. Our studies are designed to provide concrete recommendations to prioritize conservation-planning decisions and to conserve and manage sensitive alpine habitats.
